In the winter 2017 / 2018, after an intense session of training to become a professional guide on passenger ships, I followed the boat I was working on down to northern Norway, where a great natural phenomenon was awaiting me : every year, hundreds of thousands of tons of herring migrate into the Norwegian fjords to find shelter for the wintertime. As their predators - orcas and humpback whales - follow them, the fjords become the theater of one of the most amazing feeding frenzy and magnificent show in the world. There, I worked as a guide on whales and northern lights safaris. Watching whales everyday from the boat made me want to see what was happening under the surface and I had the opportunity to jump into the water and photograph the orcas underwater as well.
